Victoria Events for November 2010 MUVMonthly

Welcome to our Monthly Update this is our regular update with the highlights of the upcoming month. In addition to the regular markets, the musical events, we add a major events and those recurring events starting this month.

Post Halloween will see the 6th Annual Pumpkin Smash. This event is sponsored by the Victoria Compost Education Centre and hosted by Thrifty Foods. The smashing of the orange will be 10AM to 3PM on November 6th at the Cloverdale and Fairfield stores. Hillside will follow on the 7th also 10AM to 3PM.

The South Island will Remember on November 11th with ceremonies at Cenotaphs across the region. Please take the time to attend you local event.

The middle of the month will see the opening of some regular ‘holiday season’ events that will run through the Christmas and New Year period. The Bear Wear fundraiser for the Queen Alexandra Hospital Foundation starts on the 16th with themed Bears on display at the Grand Pacific Hotel. The Empress joins in on the 25th with the Festival of Trees in support of Children’s Hosptial. And the walls of Gingerbread will go up on the 26th for the Gingerbread House Showcase at Inn at Laurel Point in support for Habitat for Humanity. This makes for a great evening stroll to look at all the great displays.

And if that isn’t enough to get you into the Christmas spirit the trees will be lighting up at Centennial Square on the 26th and Saanich municipal Hall on the 27th. Santa will parade down the streets of Victoria on the 27th as well.
