Victoria Events for July 2010 MUVMonthly

Welcome to MeetupVictoria’s Monthly (MUVMonthly) Update this is our regular update out on the first of the month with the highlights of the upcoming month for July 2010.

The month starts with a celebration of Canada on July 1st and the start of summer holidays for many. Our neighbours to the south will have their own little party on the 4th.

Most of the region will see events on July 1st. City of Victoria’s Canada Day events will see multiple music snad crows participation events, including a living flag on the Legislature grounds and the day finishes with Fireworks at the Harbour. Saanich Celebrates Canada Day with a Picnic on the Gorge. For a complete rundown of July 1st events see our separate Canada Day posting.

The TD Victoria Jazzfest and Victoria Pride Week will continue through the beginning of July. Oak Bay, Esquimalt and Sooke had major community events last month and Langford, Saanich and Sidney will chip in this month with Sidney’s Canada Day Events on the 1st, Langford Days on the 17 and 28th, and Saanich Summer Sunfest.

Recurring Events Starting this Month

Sunday and Holiday Concerts in the Park series started at the June 27th and will continue through the summer at the Cameron Bandshell on Sundays. This adds to the Seniors Concerts on Friday Afternoons. They both will be joined by Jazz in the Park Saturdays starting July 3rd. All these events run 1:30 – 3:20PM on their respective days.
